Sous Chef
Nutwood Pubs are looking for a Sous Chef to join the kitchen team. With newly refurbished kitchens serving high-quality food, the kitchen team is looking for someone with a passion for food, and a willingness to learn. As independent pubs, we are also looking for a Sous Chef who is wanting a long-term placement. The successful candidate may be required at either of two pubs, depending on business requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Adherence to all aspects of food safety and health and safety compliance.

  • Liaising regularly with the Head Chef to ensure food specifications and due diligence is accurate and up to date.

  • Keeping food preparation areas clean and tidy and maintaining good food hygiene practices at all times

  • Running a safe work environment in the Head Chef’s absence

  • Assisting the Head Chef in creating new menus and new dishes

  • Keeping high food quantity standards in the Head Chef’s absence

  • Running the kitchen smoothly and effectively alongside the Head Chef

  • Making sure the Head Chef’s practices and procedures are followed

  • Placing orders and maintaining stock levels as per the Head Chef’s guidance

  • Keeping up to date with relevant knowledge of new, and existing, food hygiene laws and recommendations


Due to the remote nature of the pubs, applicants should have access to their own transport.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From £12.50 per hour

Front of house staff

We are looking for experienced team members, to work front of house in both of our pubs. All front of house team members will need to work on both the bar and waiting tables.

It would be an advantage to be available for shifts both midweek and at the weekends.

Essential Criteria

Over 18 years old

Excellent customer care and confidence when speaking with customers

Experience in hospitality

Basic IT skills


Team player

Good rates of pay and staff perks
